Willow Sunday!
Today was a classic Lviv day. Started with rushing to get dressed just right for church, embroidered shirts, etc., and ended with coffees and Spartak cake at a cafe (actually it ended with warm cheese sushi, but don't ask ;)) The country is observing the old calendar Easter, so today was Willow Sunday or Flowering Sunday (квітна неділя). Home sweet homeland...
When I'm here I have this overwhelming sense of being at home, but overwhelming isn't quite accurate. In fact, this time, returning here, it's this strange feeling of simply being back in the element that is so familiar, like being back at an altitude where you breathe easy, or (I can only imagine), a fish that's back in the water where it belongs... it's less dramatic than that... so maybe it's a plant back in it's native land... About today...
ok, so a very quick post to share my gratitude for Spring beginning to arrive in earnest, and being on the land with fellow plant people! Today we were finally blessed with some real warmth and sunshine, after a few really cold and dismal rainy days. "маргарити" - new to me- these sweet little daisies are blooming so early!
