Embroidery

Examples of a few of the embroidered pieces I've made over the years.
Embroidery is one of the first crafts I dedicated myself to, since age 7, totally smitten by handstitching and application of threads on cloth. Mentored by my mother and community members, and largely self-taught, I have also been fortunate in later years to receive mentorship from Yura Rafaliuk, and Myroslava Boikiv.
I love the traditional patterns and techniques of Ukrainian embroidery and endeavour to study them and honour their lineage. I have made many rushnyky (ritual cloths) for special rites of passage, and items of clothing.
